SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- A man held up the US Bank at 3015 E. Sunshine St. about 11:30 a.m. Friday. That's near Plaza Avenue.

Tellers said the robber entered the bank, displayed a handgun and ordered bank employees to get down. The robber then demanded money from two employees, both of whom complied with his demand. The robber took the money and fled north on foot.

Anyone with information about the robbery can call the Springfield Police Department at (417) 864-1810 or the FBI at (417) 882-3303 or (816) 512-8200.

Tellers and police describe the robber as white, 5-foot-6 to 5-foot-7, average build, likely in his mid-20s to mid-30s, with brown hair, and brown eyes. He was wearing a light gray sweatshirt, dark trousers, and a black mask covering his face below the nose. He was carrying a black handgun, possibly a 9mm.
