Aren’t alarm systems hard to use?

Not at all! Systems that Atlas installs can be programmed to arm and disarm with the touch of a single button or even a device that can be carried on your key chain. You can set up codes to perform other functions as well, but operating an alarm system isn’t difficult.

What happens when my alarm system goes off?

Once an alarm device is tripped, the alarm control panel sends signals to our Central Station. These signals are received and routed to an alarm operator who is on duty 24 hours a day. Signals are received in a matter of seconds and responded to within one minute. Once a signal is received the operator takes swift action, contacting the proper authorities to respond even while you’re away.

I no longer use a traditional land phone line, Can I still have Central Station monitoring?

Absolutely! Atlas offers different ways for the security systems to communicate with our Central Station. The land phone line still works, but now there is wireless as well as Internet to our Central Monitoring Station.

Isn’t it expensive to get an alarm system , and have it monitored?

Atlas offers a wide variety of systems, from a basic alarm system starting at $299 to a custom designed system to fit your individual needs. For as little as .73 cents a day you can have 24-hour protection for your family and your most valuable possessions. Rates start as low as $21.95 per month. Many insurance companies offer discounts on your homeowner’s insurance with a monitored alarm. A monitoring agreement is required.

I am told that all alarm systems are the same. Is this true?

Honestly, most alarm equipment operates in a similar manner, but like any other product, you get what you pay for. There are many alarm installation companies that use inexpensive equipment that is subject to frequent malfunctions and false alarms. When choosing an alarm security provider, look at the reputation of the company. How long have they been in business? How long will it take to get service if needed? Where will your alarm system be monitored (locally or hundreds of miles away)? Are background checks performed on all employees according to state and local laws? Are technicians uniformed and do they show ID upon arrival to your premise? Is the company willing to provide references from satisfied customers?
