( Richard Messina, Hartford Courant / December 21, 2012 ) Sam Pasco, 85, of West Hartford was a founding member of the Al Jarvis Orchestra. As the group's saxophonist, he played all over the area and backed some of the biggest acts at the Hartford Civic Center for 15 years. For the past 35 years, Pasco has brought musicians to nursing homes, schools, hospitals and more to perform Christmas music and spread cheer. Friday, the Sam Pasco trio, featuring Donn Doucette of Bristol on the six string bass guitar, and Joe Giangrasso of Suffield on piano, performed at The Gables in Farmington. |
