As water worries worsen, more people may consider buying flood insurance. Here's some fact and fiction about flood insurance.

First, agents remind you it's never too late to buy flood insurance. Homeowners can buy a policy at anytime, even if the home recently received flooding damage. Most policies take up to 30 days to go into effect, however.

Some insurance companies offer policies for condominium owners and apartment building owners as well as renters.

Not every policy covers personal property.
