Parents across the Ozarks are using our online interactive tool to help them learn more about state inspections conducted at licensed childcare facilities in the area. Now, we’ve improved it.

We've been listening to people’s comments about how to make our tool even better. As you may remember, this interactive tool allows you to view information about childcare facilities by scrolling over the map or entering information in our search bar.

By clicking on a childcare facility, you can get basic information about it, plus a list of inspections and violations found there. Now, by clicking on a link below each facility's information, you can view copies of actual inspection reports filled out by state inspectors. This allows you to see what caused a violation and decide for yourself whether it's something that concerns you.

We've also gotten some feedback from childcare facility operators who were concerned because violations that were found prior to them opening their doors were counted toward their total. We've addressed that as well by removing those inspections from our map.

They will still be included when you open up the inspection reports but we didn't think it was fair for those violations to count toward their total.
