A 25-year-old woman was arrested Wednesday, after police say she fatally mowed down her 17-year-old boyfriend in the Bronx in retaliation for breaking her iPhone.According to authorities, Jasmine Diaz was behind the wheel of her SUV when she struck and killed Frankie Hernandez on Morris Avenue just after 1:30 p.m. The fatal incident was the climax of an apparent heated argument between the pair.
Hernandez was transported to Lincoln Hospital where he was pronounced dead. Police caught up with Diaz hours later at her mother's home in the Fleetwood section, the New York Daily news reported.
Police say Diaz mowed Hernandez down after the teen smashed her iPhone.
The relationship between Diaz and Hernandez was described by friends and relatives as violent.
Diaz now faces charges of manslaughter and leaving the scene of an accident.
