SPRINGFIELD -- Crime Stoppers and the Springfield Fire Department are asking for any information regarding a suspicious fire two months ago. The fire was reported at 5:34 p.m. on May 31 from within the “pole barn” style outbuilding of a vacant home at 1921 E Division St.

The outbuilding was destroyed and neighboring houses also suffered heat damage. City fire marshals haven't been able to find the cause of the fire but they don't believe it was accidental.

If you were in the area of this incident and saw any suspicious people or vehicles at this time, or if you have any pertinent information, please call Crime Stoppers at (417) 869-TIPS (8477) or submit information securely online at www.tipsubmit.com. You do not have to give your name and no attempt is made to find out who you are.

Crime Stoppers takes information about drug dealers, wanted felons, and all other felonies.  It pays rewards of up to $1,000 in cash for the information that leads to the arrest and the filing of charges against people involved in felonies.
