Springfield police want tips on stolen fire department radio

SPRINGFIELD -- Crime Stoppers and the Springfield Police Department are asking for help identifying people who stole some emergency communications equipment. The theft occurred in the early morning of Oct. 14 in the 2900 block of South Marlan Avenue.

Someone broke into a red, Mitsubishi Montero and stole several personal items and paperwork. Also taken during the vehicle break-in was a Motorola brand model 2000 fire communications radio, which is the property of a municipal fire department in the Springfield area.

If you were in the area of this incident and saw any suspicious people or vehicles at these times, or if you know the suspects, you can call Crime Stoppers at (417) 869-TIPS (8477) or submit information securely online at www.tipsubmit.com. You do not have to give your name and no attempt is made to find out who you are.
