NIXA, Mo. -- The Christian County Sheriff’s Department needs help identifying one of the two men who tried to steal an ATM early Thursday. The man wore a hat, mask, blue jeans, dark gloves and a camouflage jacket but there is one distinguishing item on his clothing: he has a black knee brace on his left knee.

Sometime between 1:40 and 3 a.m., two men tried to steal the automatic teller machine at 291 E. Highway CC in Nixa. The ATM received only cosmetic damage. The vehicle used in the heist was stolen from a business in Ozark the same night and was recovered by Ozark Police Department after the ATM heist failed.

Anyone with information can call the Sheriff’s Department at (417) 581-2332 or the Crime Tip Hotline at 581-HELP (4357).
