Starting tonight - your favorite shows on KY3 will no longer be available on the analog signal.

KY3 is joining stations across the country in the digital transition.

If you don't have a new digital t-v, cable or satellite service, you'll need a set-top converter box to see KY3.

Truman Krumholz will help our station make the switch by symbolically shutting down the analog signal during our broadcast at 6 tonight.

Truman gets the honor because of the role he played in putting the station on the air in 1953.

He remembers playing a star spangled banner film at sign-on and having some problems.

Truman says, "we rehearsed, rehearsed and rehearsed that over and over... And the first time we did it on the air... The film broke... We'd worn it out.. We'd worn it out practicing our first sign on..."

KY3's analog signal will stay on for two more weeks as a "night-light" station...

One night-light station in each t-v market will be on the air carrying information about the digital transition for a few more days.
