People constantly on the go may find themselves skipping some meals, while overeating at other times of the day. People who have a few pounds to lose may want to explore the idea of mini-meals. Mini-meals may give people a good way to keep their blood sugar and energy levels in check, and avoid overeating.

"The human body was meant to be fed about every four to five hours, so it makes sense actually from a biological standpoint to eat frequently," says Dr. Sue Cunningham, nutritionist.

The trick is keeping the snacks small and choosing the right food groups. Dr. Cunningham says, "We see a connection between the intake of low fat dairy products and fruits and vegetables and weight management."
