California Highway Patrol El Centro Sector Capt. Jose Vasquez confirmed Thursday that his name appears on a transfer list that has yet to be approved in Sacramento, he said.
Vasquez, who has helmed the local Highway Patrol office since December 2008, said his intent to move to the Northern California city of Stockton to be near his family.
But Vasquez’s bid to transfer, like many others on the Highway Patrol’s transfer list, has yet to be finalized and approved.
If Vasquez’s efforts to transfer out of the El Centro sector fall through then, he said, “business continues as usual.”
A call to officials at the Highway Patrol’s Border Division in San Diego was not immediately returned for comment on the matter at press time.
