2/9/12 Update: The Texas Department of Public Safety says Derrick Dion Christopher, a Texas 10 Most Wanted Sex Offender from Fort Worth, was arrested as a result of an anonymous tip. That tipster will get a $3,000 reward from the Criminal Justice Division of the Governor's Office for giving information that led to Christopher's arrest. Officials say Christopher was arrested without incident at a Fort Worth apartment complex Wednesday.
2/8/12 Original: According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, a high-risk sex offender, last seen in Fort Worth, has been added to the Texas 10 Most Wanted Sex Offenders list.
The department says Derrick Dion Christopher, 38, was accused of sexually assaulting an 11-year-old girl in Tarrant County back in 2007. That charge was later reduced to Indecency with a Child. Christopher was also convicted of Injury to a Child for burning the tops of two juvenile’s feet with a bottle cap, and Deadly Conduct for discharging a firearm and drug possession.
Christopher reportedly has a scar on his forehead and scars on his hands and forearms. He also has numerous tattoos, including “DC” on his upper right arm, a Japanese symbol on his neck, and a dog on his right shoulder. He is considered armed and dangerous.
Anyone with information can provide anonymous tips in three different ways:
- Call the Crime Stoppers hotline at 1-800-252-TIPS (8477).
- Text the letters DPS—followed by your tip—to 274637 (CRIMES) from your cell phone.
- Submit a web tip through the DPS website by selecting the fugitive you have information about, and then clicking on the link under their picture.
A $3,000 cash reward is being offered for tips that lead to an arrest.
