The Sacramento-Yolo Mosquito and Vector Control District says West Nile virus activity has increased in the last week.
Woodland, Davis, Knights Landing and Dunnigan have seen an increase, with 29 mosquito samples testing positive for the virus.
Vector Control says they will increase ground and aerial treatments over the affected areas in an effort to reduce the infected mosquito population.
Thirteen human cases of West Nile have been reported in 2012.
