SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- It's been 45 years since the last passenger train pulled out of Springfield. When the train from the Frisco Line arrived in Kansas City at 7:30 p.m. on Dec. 8, 1967, it was the end of the line for passenger train travel out of the Ozarks.
Fortunately, you can re-live some railroad history in a new book called "Nothing Could be Finer than a Frisco Diner." John Reed, who authored the book, joined KY3 News at Noon on Monday to speak about his experiences as a steward on the Frisco Line.
