MOUNTAIN HOME, Ark. -- A man from Salesville faces a murder charge for the death of his girlfriend on New Year's Day. Prosecutors charged David Craig Smith on Tuesday evening for the death of Lisa Kay Smith.
Deputies responded to the domestic call on 139 Broadview Circle shortly after 10:30 p.m. Monday. They found Smith lying on the floor, unconscious.
Investigators say the 45-year-old woman was covered in blood and appeared to have severe trauma around the head and neck area. She was taken to a hospital in Springfield, where she died.
Baxter County deputies arrested Smith on Tuesday morning.
