Conservation department seeks killer of bald eagle in southeast Missouri
WILLIAMSVILLE, Mo. -- Officials with the Missouri Department of Conservation are looking for the person who shot and killed a bald eagle in southeast Missouri.

A landowner in Wayne County found the young eagle on his property on Wednesday.  The eagle was taken to a wildlife rehabilitation center but died later that night.
 
Bald eagles are protected by both state and federal law.
