We're celebrating the annual return of bald eagles to Lake Springfield. This weekend the Springfield Conservation Nature Center is giving families a chance to see our national bird up close.
Dickerson Park Zoo will have "Phoenix" greeting visitors. The female bald eagle turns 24-years-old this year. She'll be joined by "Aquila," the zoo's golden eagle. An indoor program will be held hourly from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 26th and from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, January 27th. The event is free and is open to all ages. No registration is required.
Visitors are also encouraged to travel a short distance to the Lake Springfield Boathouse & Marina for eagle watching on the lake.
