Pamela Hernandez with Thrive Personal Fitness joined KY3's Paul Adler on Ozarks Today this morning. Just in time for your Thanksgiving pigout, she shared some ideas on getting a tighter tummy and a stronger core.

Here's some of what Pamela shared with us this morning:

A Stronger Core In 2 Minutes a Day

The core is the foundation of the body, it comprises everything but your arms and legs. Everything depends on it, especially functional movement. Lack of core strength and development can lead to injury.

To get a stronger core in 2 minutes a day, practice these 3 exercises.

Plank: On the ground, get in a face down position supporting your body on your forearms and your toes. Stay as straight as possible with your abdominals pulled in to help support your low back. Hold for up to 1 minute.

Russian Twist: Sit on the ground with knees bent, heels on the ground and toes pointing up. Lean back slightly to create a V shape with your body. Hold your arms out in front (a weight is optional). Rotate your shoulder girdle from side to side, twisting through the middle of the body. Perform 10 repetitions on each side

Birddog: Get on hands and knees on the floor, looking down at the ground. Raise your right hand out in front of you and extend your left leg behind you. Reach for the walls, not the ceiling, and keep your body as straight as possible. Return to start and repeat with the left hand and right leg. Alternate for 10 repetitions on each side.
