FT. LEONARD WOOD, Mo. -- More than 90 soldiers came home Sunday. Friends and family gave a heroes welcome to the 55th Mobile Augmentation Company.
The soldiers returned from a year-long deployment in Afghanistan, where they cleared the roads of IEDs (homemade bombs), one of the most dangerous jobs in the war.
The soldiers said they grew during their deployment and made life-long friends from their company. They know the work they did in Afghanistan, making roads safe, will improve the quality of life for those they left behind.
Thirteen soldiers were injured during the deployment, but no one died.
