NIXA, Mo. -- Firefighters say a home is a total loss after a fire on Friday afternoon.
The fire started at a home in the 1500 block of Emerald Hills drive shortly after 1 p.m. Firefighters found the fire spreading throughout both eaves of the home. Nobody was home. However, firefighters rescued three dogs and a cat from the basement.
It took nearly an hour and a half to control the fire. The homeowner is receiving assistance from family, friends and the Red Cross.
