SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- A man from Galena received a three-year federal prison sentence for possession of child pornography and trafficking counterfeit DVDs. A federal judge on Tuesday also ordered Bruce Starfield, 61, to pay $3,000 in restitution to one of the young victims. Starfield pleaded guilty on April 17.
Investigators found hundreds of images of child porn on CDs, DVDs and Iomega Zip drive disks after an employee found child porn on a computer that Starfield brought in for service in January 2011. Investigators also found a collection of counterfeit CDs, DVDs and VHS movies when they searched Starfield'shome.
Starfield later told police thate he bought the movies on eBay, printed labels for the movies, placed the labels on CD and DVD containers and sold the movies at flea markets. Officers found roughly 3,000 DVDs, 179 of which were seized.
The judge also ordered Starfield to forfeit to the government a computer tower, 50 CD-DVDs, four zip drive disks, a laptop computer and 179 DVDs.
This case was investigated by the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Office of Homeland Security Investigations, the Stone County Sheriff’s Department, and the Ozark Police Department.
