Jared Loughner's stay at prison in Springfield may be extended again
TUCSON, Ariz. -- A federal judge says a psychologist believes the man charged for the shooting rampage in Tucson is still incompetent to stand trial.  U.S. District Court Judge Larry Burns scheduled a hearing for Monday in San Diego on the status of the Jared Loughner's case.

Loughner faces 49 charges stemming from the shooting on Jan. 8, 2011, that killed six people and injured 13, including U.S. Rep. Gabrielle Giffords.

Loughner is being treated at the U.S. Medical Center for Federal Prisoners in Springfield, Mo.,  where he's been forcibly medicated for about six months. His current stay ends Feb. 8, but Burns says in a filing on Thursday that the court's "inclination is to extend the defendant's commitment by another four months."

Burns says the psychologist believes Loughner "still lacks an adequate understanding of the nature and consequences of the charges against him."
