Late second-half run leads Missouri State over Eastern Michigan
YPSILANTI, Mich. (AP) — Anthony Downing scored 16 points, including the go-ahead basket with 2:45 to play, and Missouri State defeated Eastern Michigan 57-54 on Saturday.

Marcus Marshall added 11 points for the Bears (9-20), who trailed by as many as 13 points in the first half in the nonconference game.

Derek Thompson led the Eagles (12-15) with 19 points, going 4 for 6 from 3-point range.

J.R. Sims, who scored 11 points, made a 3-pointer just before halftime to send Eastern Michigan into the break with a 29-21 lead. The Eagles were in control most of the second half but Missouri State finally took the lead thanks to a late 16-2 run that included Downing's basket that made it 48-47.
