SPRINGFIELD, MO - If you stopped by the Hy-Vee on Battlefield Road sometime between the hours of 10am and 2pm, you probably noticed something pink and massive right next to the entrance of the grocery store. Upon closer examination, you'd find it to be a giant inflatable replica of a colon. Promoting colon health and the education of colon cancers, Hy-Vee, Mercy Cancer Resource Center, and the American Center Society teamed up to offer people the chance to get up close to the diseases that can affect your colon. Along with the giant colon, people could stop by the many food stations inside the building where culinary professionals offered colon-friendly foods. Also, found in the cooking classroom, Mercy had information regarding colon health and healthy eating.
