Couple from California had been in hotel in Branson 3 days before wife was murdered

Thomas Brown

BRANSON, Mo. -- The Branson Police Department released a photo of the man from California who is wanted for the shooting death of his wife on Sunday.  A judge issued an arrest warrant for Thomas P. Brown, 68, on charges of first-degree murder and armed criminal action.

A housekeeper found Marilyn Brown, 63, shot dead in the couple's room at the Ramada Inn on Sunday at 1:30 p.m.

Investigators say Brown could be driving a blue 2006 Dodge Durango with California
license 5WRF678.   The couple recently moved to Branson from Palm Springs, Calif.  Detectives discovered Thomas did not want to move to the Branson area. They ended up having to live out of motel rooms due to being displaced from the place they planned to live.

Police say the Browns checked into room 182 at the Ramada Resort and Conference Center on Feb. 21.  The room showed no signs of struggle, but the family pet, the blue Dodge Durango, and the Thomas Brown's personal items were gone.
