SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- A woman who was shot in the head on Sunday died on Monday morning. Springfield police say Kimberly Walker, 23, of Springfield, died at 11:17 a.m. at a hospital.
Police responded to a home at 1032 E. Cherokee St. at 5:30 Sunday night after a report of a gunshot. Walker's live-in boyfriend, Darrell Smith, 26, was arrested for the shooting, but it will be up to a prosecutor to decide whether he should be formally charged after police complete their investigation.
This could turn out to be Springfield's 16th homicide of 2012.
