STELLA, Mo. -- The stepfather of a 9-year-old girl said Wednesday night that he was cooperating with authorities as they searched for Rowan Ford. David Spears said he was helping searchers look for the girl.

Friday night, Ford's mother left for work. Spears says he looked in on the girl after she went to bed in the family's home in Stella. He then went out with friends.
