Radon increases risk for lung cancer

Radon exposure is the second-leading cause of lung cancer, but you can take steps to protect your family.

Radon testing kits are available in most hardware stores. Each package contains the materials necessary to test for excessive levels of radon.

The kits have been quite popular in recent weeks. When parents began testing kids' toys for lead, they also appear to have begun testing for radon.

Radon doesn't smell, you can't see it, and any home--new or old--is susceptible to it.
