HOLLISTER, Mo. -- Eight miles south of Branson, construction is progressing on a $113 million airport. Crews broke ground mid-summer, and are now working ahead of schedule.

Trucks are cutting through the terrain to create the first privately funded and operated commercial airport in the United States in 40 years.

"We believe it's an opportunity for us to provide a needed service at a top level quality," said airport director Jeff Bourk.

The airport is scheduled to open in May 2009.
