SPRINGFIELD -- As tornadoes ripped across the Ozarks on Monday night and Tuesday morning, ham radio operators were helping to track the storms. More than 50 local ham radio operators make up the Sky-Warn network, providing mobile reports to the National Weather Service and providing reports for the agencies responding to disaster scenes.

To learn more about the ham radio operation, use the link below. The ham radio group has an event on Saturday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Faith Lutheran Church, 1517 E. Valley Water Mill Road in northeast Springfield.
