A Springfield music legend has died. Speedy Haworth was one of the co-stars of the Ozark Jubilee which aired on KY-3 in the 19-50's. He also starred on the "Slim Wilson Show as a member of "The Tall Timber Trio." The guitar player made his debut on KWTO Radio back in 1932 with the Goodwill Trio. Speedy went on to play in Nashville, alongside West Plains native Porter Wagoner, Rex Allen, and Leroy Van Dyke. Haworth was 85 years old.

We now know more about a drowning on Table Rock Lake. The water patrol says James Clouse of Lampe was hit in the face by a winch handle when he tried to move his boat dock closer to shore yesterday afternoon. Clouse fell into the water, his body was recovered about 20 minutes later. He was 80 years old.

Drivers will have to slow down through Springfield neighborhoods. City council voted to lower the speed limit from 30 to 25 miles per hour in residential areas unless its posted otherwise. The reduced limit will go into effect once the speed limit signs are replaced.
