Little Rock, AR -- Legislation passed last year that mistakenly allowed everyone, even toddlers, to marry in Arkansas will be taken up again in a special session next week.
One lawmaker, who backed the bill, is now proposing a measure to repeal the botched law.
Under the measure, the law would return the minimum marriage age to 17 for boys and 16 for girls.
The Democrat from Jacksonville said he's glad to have a chance
to fix the problem.
The governor called the special session to raise the severance
tax on natural gas, but he is also allowing legislators to take up the
marriage law issue.
