SPRINGFIELD -- The Rotary Clubs of Springfield present the 9th Annual Rock’n Ribs BBQ Festival on Saturday at Bass Pro Shops on the corner of Sunshine Street at Campbell Avenue. The festival is on the store's south parking lot.

The event features a wide range of entertainment including a motorcycle show hosted by ANPAC from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. and live bands nominated to battle for the 2008 GO Music Awards from 12:30- 6 p.m. There is a Kids Zone with games and activities, as well as public BBQ sampling beginning at 1:15, featuring 50 traveling cooking teams from a six-state area.

The cost is $7 at the door and proceeds benefit Boys & Girls Town of Missouri, Ronald McDonald House Charities-Mobile Dental Unit, Ozark Trails Council - Boy Scouts of America, Big Brothers/Big Sisters, the Good Samaritan Boys Ranch and the YMCA. Last year, the Rotary Clubs, including the Rotaract Club for young professionals, donated $130,000 to the youth organizations after Rock'n Ribs.
