Man charged with sex crimes in four counties pleads guilty in Christian County

OZARK, Mo. -- A man from Nixa pleaded guilty last week for molesting children. Larry Savage was charged in 2005 and 2006 in three separate cases in Christian County. Circuit Judge Mark Orr scheduled sentencing for July 11 for all three cases.

Savage pleaded guilty on Friday for two counts of statutory rape, one count of statutory sodomy, four counts of use of a child in a sexual performance, four counts of promoting a sexual performance by a child and one count of sexual exploitation of a minor.

Savage agreed to plead guilty in exchange for a recommendation from Christian County Prosecuting Attorney Ron Cleek for less than maximum prison sentences. Orr reserved the right to reject the plea agreement after he gets a presentencing report from the state.

Savage is serving a seven-year prison sentence after a jury convicted him of child abuse in Newton County last September. He’s scheduled for a trial in Webster County on July 30 on three counts: use of a child in a sexual performance, promoting a child in a sexual performance and child abuse. A trial is scheduled in Greene County on June 23 for statutory rape, use of a child in a sexual performance and incest.

Savage’s ex-wife, Lisa Savage, says Larry Savage took children to motels in different counties and allowed others to have sex with them, which is why he was charged in four counties in 2005 and 2006. Lisa Savage says the victims are three children.
