Dental records confirm bones belonged to missing woman

By Gene Hartley

LEBANON, Mo. -- The Laclede County Sheriff's Department said Thursday that dental records confirm bones found Tuesday belonged to Tracie Wahwassuck. The 43-year-old woman disappeared in April 2007.

The bones surfaced in a field near Drynob, east of Lebanon, near where her boyfriend said he saw her hunting for arrowheads next to the Osage Fork of the Gasconade River. Anthropologists will examine the remains to see if they can determine a cause of death. The Laclede County sheriff has not classified the case as a homicide.
