Corps keeps flood gates closed at Table Rock Lake despite rain

By Gene Hartley

BRANSON, Mo. -- The Army Corps of Engineers at Table Rock Lake is breathing a sigh of relief after not receiving the rainfall total it expected earlier this week.

While the lake did rise Friday two-tenths of a foot thanks to rivers bringing rainwater down from the north, the flood gates remain closed. The Corps wants to remind vacationers that marinas are open on Table Rock but they should be cautious when boating the swollen lake.

Under average conditions, Table Rock Lake should be at its normal, conservation level of 917 feet above sea level by mid July.
