MARSHFIELD, Mo. -- A former mayor and alderman of Fordlland is accused of fondling two girls who live near him. Sam Cook, 82, was charged Friday morning with two counts of child molestation. If he's convicted, Cook could receive prison sentences of between five and 15 years for each count.

The charges follow interviews by Webster County Sheriff's Department detectives with several children who say Cook touched them inappropriately, exposed himself to them, and made sexual comments.
