Springfield Police are investigating a crash in the 300 block of North Burton where a driver slammed into the corner of a house.

Police say the driver, who is from Iowa, lost control, crossed the median and two lanes of traffic before crashing into the foundation of a house.

Investigators say they confiscated several bottles of alcohol from the car and believe the driver may have been under the influence.

"I was watching television and I thought it was an earthquake because I saw everything moving around," resident Josh Leyva said. "I got up, looked out the window and he was trying to back the car up. We got him out of the car and gave him a towel, he was bleeding everywhere, and he had a bottle in his hand of hard liquor."

The resident of the house says his young cousins had just been playing outside just before the crash.
