BRANSON, Mo. -- The State Park Marina is managing to stay afloat despite record rainfall and fuel prices.

Compared to last summer, managers at State Park Marina at Table Rock Lake have seen a big dip in boater traffic. It's 10 to 15 percent lighter this year. They blame it on higher gas prices at the marina, which are around $4.59 a gallon for boat fuel.

Marina staff say they are finding more of the locals tending to use their boats a little bit less and, if they do go out, they do more floating than boating.

The marina does say that rain and poor weather have slowed business down more than the price of gas. They're hoping for a long stretch of dry weather to get boat traffic moving again.
