SPRINGFIELD -- The weather cleared up to create a beautiful Friday afternoon and evening for the annual "I Love America" celebration presented by James River Assembly of God Church. Thousands of visitors filled the grounds near U.S. 65 at Division Street, on top of Springfield Underground.

Gates to the event opened at 11 a.m. with games, food and music throughout the day. The event focuses on a celebration of faith and country with a gospel message presented prior to a fireworks display accompanied by the orchestra and choir from James River Assembly.
