MONETT, Mo. -- A boy from Pierce City who has written more than 20 letters to public officials and businesses about frayed and tattered flags got some more results on Tuesday. Monett City Hall says it replaced the tattered flag at the city cemetery.

Wyatt Bowen, 9, has a patriotic mission to get worn-out flags replaced. He wrote the Monett mayor twice about the flag at the cemetery. His persistence paid off when the cemetery flag was replaced on Tuesday morning.
