Service honors former teacher killed by red-light runner

ROGERSVILLE, Mo. -- Cindy Grassi, who graduated and taught in the Logan-Rogersville School District, died in Philadelphia two days after she was hit by a driver running a red light. A large crowd attended a memorial at the high school Saturday afternoon.

Grassi and her friend, Sandy Wacher, were in Philadelphia to watch the St. Louis Cardinals play.

The driver, 18-year-old Joseph Genovese, is now charged with homicide by vehicle. He was previously charged with DUI and aggravated assault among others.
