The adopted daughter of murdered Springfield attorney Rolland Comstock, Faith Stocker filed a wrongful death lawsuit this week against Comstock's ex-wife, Alberta. We first told you investigators were focusing their attention on Alberta and the victim's adopted son, Michael. A court affidavit shows the day before the murder in July last year, Alberta bought a gun at a shop in Oklahoma...the same caliber gun used in the crime. Investigators also requested D-N-A from Michael Comstock who's insisted he hadn't been in his father's home for two or three years. Charges haven't been filed in Comstock's death.

Springfield wants to tighten security at government buildings downtown. Next week, City council will consider adding metal detectors and security guards at the Busch Building and Historic City Hall. The changes would cost about 125-thousand dollars. Some security upgrades were made after a deadly shooting in February at a city meeting in Kirkwood, Missouri.

The Ozark Empire Fair's ten day run begins today - but it will be a little different this year. The gates open two hours later at one instead of eleven with the exception of free ride day. Tickets are 8-dollars for adults... 2-bucks for kids 6-to-12. Also ... this is the first year you'll have to pay for a majority of the musical acts on the KY3 grandstand.

ST. LOUIS (AP) - Monsanto, Archer Daniels Midland, Deere & Co. and DuPont have formed a group that will argue for the use of biofuels. The group plans to use national ads and lobbyists to make its case, in response to criticism that using crops for fuel has increased the price of food worldwide.

(AP) - The price of gas is down again. Triple-A's daily Fuel-Gauge report puts the national average price of a gallon of regular this morning at a fraction over $4. That's down two cents from yesterday and is 11 cents better than the all-time high a week ago. Still, the pump price is more than a dollar-a-gallon higher than it was a year ago. This week's price decline reflects a drop in the price of crude oil.
