25-year-old, Laura Kirkland was a fifth grade teacher at the Christian School of Springfield.
It's Pastor said - "We are just absolutely devastated by the news of this and just trying to wrap our brains and hearts around this." The school has not had any contact with Kirkland, only saying she will not be returning this school year. Kirkland was also an employee at the Nurturing Place on National. Owner, Jessica Holland said they were shocked at the news of Kirkland - who was terminated Wednesday. The parents of kids at the daycare have been made aware of the situation and are supportive of the Nurturing Place. At this time, there's no evidence any sexual acts happened at either of Kirkland's work places only at her home. Clearly a lot of contact with children. Don't know if there's other victims. Despite the police report saying Kirkland admitted to sexual acts with the boy, she entered a plea of not guilty.Something that does-not surprise the prosecution. Generally it's a plea of not guilty, somewhere down the line have a trial before a judge or a jury or enter into a plea. It's too early for the prosecution to consider a possible plea, but one thing they will stand firm on, making sure Laura Kirkland does-not have any interaction with children under the age of 17. Especially if she applies for another teaching job. No exceptions, the attorney could enter to alter, that's something we don't want. Most PopularMore Good Stuff |
