CAMDENTON, Mo. -- Two of the four young women who were arrested on suspicion of being prostitutes while pregnant now face charges. Camden County sheriff’s deputies and Lake Ozark police officers arrested the women two weeks ago after an undercover sting at a hotel near Lake Ozark.

The officers set up the sting after learning pregnant women were soliciting paid sex on an Internet site. One arrested woman is eight months pregnant; another is six months pregnant and another is three months pregnant. They range in age from 18 to 22.

Alexandra Wells, 18, of Columbia and Allysia Waldrop, 20, of Jefferson City are charged with prostitution. That’s a misdemeanor that could get them jail sentences up to six months long or fines up to $500. Wells also faces a prostitution charge in Columbia that was filed in May

Prosecutors could decide later to charge the other two arrested women. One of those two had warrants for unrelated charges in other counties.
