SPRINGFIELD -- Police are looking into alcohol as a possible cause of a deadly crash on Sunday night. Witnesses say Brandon Hephner, 21, of Springfield lost control after passing another car and crossed the median on Kansas Expressway north of Walnut Lawn about 9:45 p.m. His car went into oncoming traffic and was t-boned by a pickup.
Hephner died at a hospital. The driver of the pickup, a 19-year-old woman from Kansas City, was shaken up but not hurt.

FOUKE, Ark. (AP) -- The federal child pornography investigation
is still ongoing at the Tony Alamo Christian Ministries compound in southwest Arkansas. Authorities say they took six children into protective custody on Saturday as part of the investigation. No arrests have been made.

NEOSHO, Mo. (AP) -- Jury selection is set for July 2009 for a
man from southwest Missouri accused of killing three Micronesian church leaders and wounding four people last year. Documents filed in
Newton County show jurors from Greene County will hear the case of the man charged with the shooting inside a church in Neosho in August 2007.
Eiken Elam Saimon remains in jail without bail on three counts of murder, four counts of assault and one count each of felonious restraint and armed criminal action.

NEOSHO, Mo. (AP) -- The Newton County sheriff's department says a murder investigation is at a standstill. Deputies say some 40 leads into the murder of Ger Lee haven't panned out. His remains were found this spring in a field near Granby with a bullet lodged in the skull. Lee lived near Cassville in Barry County.
