THAYER, Mo. -- A crash in a construction site north of Thayer killed a worker on Thursday evening. Mikey Wagoner, 56, of Rolla was directing traffic on U.S. 63 when a tractor-trailer hit a stopped sport utility vehicle.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the semi ran off the right side of the highway and overturned on Wagoner, who died at the scene. The accident was about 6:30.

Troopers say the truck driver, Edward Lafleur, 57, of Indianapolis, Ind., was not hurt. The driver of the SUV, Deborah Holloway of Thayer, was treated for moderate injuries at the hospital in Mountain Home, Ark.
