Springfield -- A sad goodbye Saturday morning as nearly a dozen Missouri Army National Guard soldiers left for Iraq. Most of them are no stranger to deployment.
Eleven brave men and each with a story to tell. For Sgt. First class Reese Hendricks this marks his second tour but this time he will be gone for seven months instead of a year, "This is actually the hardest part and getting gone and away from the family," said Hendricks.
Sgt. First class Hendricks will have to miss being home for Christmas this year. But his family says they always have a good time getting together a care package for him.
The deploying soldiers primary mission will be transporting people and parts throughout the combat zone using a C-23 aircraft. The soldiers are from detachment 3 of the 1185Th Theater Aviation Company.
