CARTHAGE, Mo. (AP) -- Jasper County Sheriff's Department detectives are investigating the deaths of a husband and wife as a double homicide. The Joplin Globe reports the couple's son went to their home in Carthage after they didn't show up for church and found their bodies.
Sheriff's officials may release details of the crime on Monday morning. The victims' names have not been released.

A teenager from Kirbyville was seriously injured in an SUV crash. Investigators say a group of 13-year-olds was driving the Ford Explorer on Sunday.
One boy was thrown out of the vehicle when it slid off a gravel road. Two other teens suffered moderate injuries.

Another 13-year-old in Lawrence County is in serious condition after driving a car into a pole. This crash was Sunday night on a county road near Aurora. He was airlifted to a hospital in Springfield.

LEBANON, Mo. -- Pre-funeral visitation is Monday night for the family of businessman Robert Plaster. The visitation is from 7 to 9 at Holman-Howe Funeral Home. The funeral is at 2 on Tuesday. Plaster died of natural causes at his home near Lebanon on Saturday.

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - The Arkansas Supreme Court will hear
oral arguments on Monday in a lawsuit aimed at stopping a state lottery
proposal that's on the general election ballot in November. The Arkansas Family Council wants justices to either remove the proposal from the ballot or not count any votes for the proposed constitutional amendment to establish a state-run lottery.
The group argues the proposed constitutional amendment doesn't let voters know whether it would pave the way for casino gaming.

CONWAY, Ark. (AP) -- Construction is scheduled to begin Monday on Hewlett-Packard's new customer service and technical support center. The company expects the center will employ 1,200 people.
